Urbanized, A Documentary Film by Gary Hustwit


Urbanized will be shown on October 11, 2011 at the Detroit Film Theater at the Detroit Institute of Arts in Detroit, Michigan and on October 12, 2011 at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio.

If you’re interested in how cities today are being designed, you may want to check out Urbanized, a documentary that tackles the ways on how to prepare a city as the number of people living in it grows. Various experts in the different fields concerned will add incites on how to assess, plan, engineer and reshape the cities that we are now living in. This film intends to provide information to start a global discussion on how cities should be in the coming years.

What is interesting about the film is that it suggests that we take a proactive stand in designing new cities. It will then be good to know how ordinary citizens, like us, can contribute to its designs as well as how the new designs will affect communities. And, if the changes are upon us, what avenues are open so that we can easily adjust to the changes.
