Days before the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, Ford announced the new Ford Focus ECOnetic Technology, a fuel efficient non-hybrid automobile with a diesel engine capable of reaching 100 kilometers with just 2.8L of fuel.
The Ford Focus Econetic Technology comes in 3 variants: a 1.0L turbocharged 3-cylinder, a 1.6L turbocharged EcoBoost, and the 1.6-litre TDCi Duratorq diesel.
The new Ford Focus ECOnetic Technology also features stop/start technology, regenerative breaking and a low emission of 89g of CO2/km.
Along with this, the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic Technology will also be unveiled at the motor show. Although smaller, it boasts of a 2.7L/100km fuel consumption with a carbon emission rating of 87g/km.
Ford aims to release the ECOnetic Techlogy in the next two years.
