Developments in the electric car industry are clear moves on what the automobiles of the future will run on. With new technologies, electric cars are going faster and are having longer ranges. Isn't it time that F1 races run on electric motors as well?

F1 races are considered a way for automobile companies to exhibit the new developments that they have achieved. But still, F1 cars are running on petrol, a fossil fuel. The FIA, the governing body of F1 races, are talking about using alternative fuels in their future races, electric motors included. However, there are speculations that this move may take away some of the thrill involved in the race. Would it?

It would not make much sense that silent electric cars will be made to sound like a petrol fueled car. Perhaps it would take away some of the excitement in terms of sound. But that should not hinder us from showcasing electric motors in F1 cars.

Whether its time or not to run F1 cars on electric motors is still a big question because F1 race fans might not be open to the idea but we should gear up for it.
